The Howick Golf Course offers a unique golfing experience with magnificent sweeping views of Auckland's Hauraki Gulf on offer around the course. Aside from its fabulous location and spectacular views, the golf course provides a good test of accuracy from the tee to negotiate a combination of narrow tree lined fairways and strategically designed short to medium length holes for golfers of all levels to enjoy. 

Gulf Harbour Golf Course is in my opinion the best golf course in the Auckland region, ocean views, rolling terrain, spectacular finishing holes and great traditional values all combine to make the most exciting golfing day possible.  This 6,400 metre Par 72 course is located on the Whangaparaoa Peninsular not far from the Whangaparaoa golf club and meanders through native grasses and vegetation, it has a natural look and feel from start to finish. It is also where the 2000 World Cup was held where big hitting John Daly smashed some huge drives. It is 40km north of the City, about 20 to 30 minutes drive.

Also north of the city but not as far as the Gulf Harbour golf club is the North Shore Golf Club it is located on the upper fringes of the Waitemata Harbour, adjacent to the fast growing Albany area North of the city.  Features of this picturesque course are 27 tree lined holes that offer players the option of three different 18 hole layouts;  Red, Blue or Gold.  Each covers undulating terrain and the scenic aspect of the club encompasses rural views poised above the natural backdrop of the Lucas Creek escarpment.

From its cliff top and coastal fairways, Formosa Resort Course has panoramic views of Waiheke Island, Rangitoto and the distant Coromandal Peninsular. With 79 bunkers and over 1,000 mature Phoenix and Washington Palms as well as hundreds of Pohutukawa trees, this Sir Bob Charles designed par 72 course is a true test of golf. Covering 440 acres and 6,650 metres off the Pro tees, it is one of the longest golf courses in New Zealand.

After a Hearty breakfast drive across the North Island to the West Coast where Muriwai Golf Links is located, it is about an hours drive from the motel.  Muriwai is a seaside links which is gaining a reputation for being the best links course north of the Paraparumu links course and is a joy to play.

At Titirangi Golf Course recent updates and the subtle cunning of one of the great masters of golf design, 'Dr Alister MacKensie' provide interest, variety and a true golfer's test at his only New Zealand masterpiece.  Reminiscent of another of his famous designs, 'Augusta' with the Amen Corner at 12, 13 and 14 this is a memorable walk among tall exotics, native New Zealand bush and undulating landscapes.  It is situated in the Western Suburbs of Auckland 20 minutes from the city.

Also a short drive away is the Peninsular Golf Course, it has recently had some of the holes redesigned and it is exceptionally well maintained, it has plenty of elevation changes and a great club atmosphere.  Whilst not being too long, it's still a good test of golf with water coming into play on some holes, it has great views of the Huraki Gulf and is ideally situated on the main highway.

Enjoy a great drive up to Warkworth which is about a 30 minute drive north where Omaha Beach Golf Club is situated, it is an underrated gem and is built on sand dunes weaving though a coastal site and taking advantage of the outstanding features such as the Kahikatea Forest and wetlands area.  Stunning views abound out across the beach to the Little and Great Barrier Islands from the newly designed back nine, and the front nine views across the beautiful Whangateau Harbour.

Widely regarded as one of New Zealand's iconic golf courses The Grange Golf Course is always immaculately presented and is an excellent test of golf.  Visitors from around the world are made feel welcome, the course has hosted every major New Zealand tournament, both Amateur and Professional including the NZ Open on 8 occasions.
