The Kapiti coast is a 45 minute drive from Wellington Airport, it is always a great golfing destination as the weather always seems to be on the bright side, three of the courses are close to the sea and have links layouts, there is also a short drive to Palmerston North to play there best course and also a round at a valley course that is tucked away in the hills. As well as the great weather and awesome golf courses, there is a real good holiday vibe to the area with great restaurants, bars and cafes, and if its warm enough there is the great beaches for a dip.

GOLF COURSES

One of the more famous courses in New Zealand, the Paraparaumu Golf Links, is a real golfing experience with a pure links feel. It has everything a links course should have and if the wind is blowing it will test all your skills, it has held the NZ Open loads of times, and it is the only golf course in New Zealand that Tiger Woods has competed on.

Waikanae Golf Course is a real gem, I personally believe it's as good as Paraparaumu golf links and is where they hold the Monday qualifying for the NZ Open when it's held at Paraparaumu. It is very much the same feel as being at Paraparaumu with a different layout, some of the holes have blind tee shots and approach shots, so distance control is a bonus.

Also a great course which makes this tour a great experience is Levin Links, it is more of a cross bred between links and parkland's golf with more tree lined fairways on the back nine and softer greens, this course is a treat to play, it's not long but demands accuracy off the tees.

The Judgeford Golf Club is situated just 3 kilometers from Pauatahanui on SH 58 in rolling picturesque countryside between Paremata and the Hutt Valley. The 18 Hole, 5567 meters course combines a number of varied features that together provide an interesting and challenging test for golfers of all ages and abilities. Off course practice facilities include a new 4 bay driving net, practice green with bunker facility and a putting green.

Manawatu Golf Club (Hokowhitu) is situated in Palmerston North's Suburb of Hokowhitu bordering on the banks of the Manawatu River and the city's Centennial Lagoon. The club claims the title as having the oldest golf course in New Zealand. Featuring tree-lined fairways, beautifully manicured fairways, fast rolling greens and over 50 challenging white sand bunkers throughout the parklike course. The club has a proud history of hosting New Zealands top Professional and Amateur events including 5 NZ Open Championships, 8 NZ Amatuer Championships and various other national championships. The course is regarded as Manawatu's premiere 18 hole layout, and provides a challenging yet fair test for golfers of all abilities.
