The New Plymouth Golf Course (Ngamotu Links) is maintained in great condition, and has generous width fairways lined with stately mature pohutukawa trees. Mt Taranaki is always picturesque to the South, and the Tasman sea to the North provides breath taking views of the magnificent coast line stretching from Cape Egmont in the West to the Waikato in the North-East.  The course layout, initially designed in 1930, makes wonderful use of the natural contours, with large greens being guarded by unique black iron sand bunkers.

10 minutes from New Plymouth city centre is the Westown Golf Course, it has great views of Mt Taranaki, it is a tree lined picturesque course with slight undulation for more interest, a great friendly atmosphere make for a great day out here.

The Inglewood Golf Course, 10 minutes east of New Plymouth also has great views of the mountain, it is an easy walking course, and although it is short in length, the tree placements make it a challenge, this course has the reputation of being the best groomed course in the region.
