South Island 7 Day Resort Course Tour Clearwater, Terrace Downs, Millbrook and Jack's Point Resort courses. This is one of our best South Island tours we have, and the four resort courses are exceptional, both courses and views, from the Garden City's Clearwater Resort course to the newest South Island resort course at Jack's Point. This tour has been designed to give you plenty of time to enjoy not only the courses, but everything the local regions have to offer, from Christchurch's city center with tram rides and punting down the Avon River, to Queenstown's well known adventure playground.
Day One Arrive at Christchurch Airport, load up the rental car and set off to the Motel, settle in to your accommodation and decide what you would like to do for the evening. CHRISTCHURCH ACCOMMODATION Crown Plaza Hotel click on images for more information
The warm setting of this hotel is not only reflected in the stylish rooms, sumptuous restaurants and spacious public areas, but most impotantly, it is ideally situated central to Victoria Square and beside the Avon River, the Crown Plaza has the city at it's doorstep. It is physically linked to the Christchurch Convention Centre and adjacent to the Christchurch Casino, and just minutes from all leading attractions.
Day Two A round of golf at the CLEARWATER RESORT is a great way to start this golfing getaway, it is a course that demands all the focus you can muster, and as you thread your ball between the many lakes and bunkers you know you have embarked on a first class golf tour of the South Islands best.
This par 72 championship course is home to the HSBC NZ PGA Championship and was designed by John Darby and NZ golfing legend Sir Bob Charles. The course combines elements of links golf inspired by the great Scottish courses with parkland golf, more reminiscent of Florida. Playable all year round, the course meanders around a succession of spring fed lakes and trout filled streams.
Day Three After a 60 minite drive from Christchurch City up to the foothills of the Canterbury mountain ranges, you will arive at the Terrace Downs High Country Resort. This Resort has what I believe to be the best Clubhouse in New Zealand, and the course layout is brilliant, if thats not enough the views are equally as impressive.
One of the most scenic resort courses in New Zealand, located on the Rakaia Gorge and below the towering Mt Hutt Range, Terrace Downs offers more than just great golf, there is Jet Boating, Clay Shooting. The course is championship length but has 4 sets of tees for all skill levels, and when the wind blows this resort course will show its not a course that is easy, there is truly no other resort in the world quite like this one. Day Four After a hearty breakfast its a scenic drive down along the foothills of the Canterbury plains and into the Central Otago region, this trip is about a five hour drive, so you will have the choice of taking it easy and enjoying all the scenery and tourist stops, some of you may like to get an extra round of golf in, if so let us know and we can arrange a game of golf at one of the other courses in the region and only charge you the green fee rate, there are plenty of great quality courses in the Central Otago region. If you decide to play you will need to leave Methven by 9am, this will get you to your Queenstown accommodation between 6pm and 6.30pm. QUEENSTOWN ACCOMMODATION Amity Lodge
Day Five After waking up in paradise and enjoying another hearty breakfast, it's time to cruise to the Millbrook Resort for a warm up and practise putt before enjoying the revamped layout, this is yet another one of New Zealands finest resorts and the walk around this course will have you feeling like you are a very lucky golfer.
Day Six Today is the day to play the newest golf resort in the South Island, so after yet another hearty breakfast its off to the Jack's Point Resort, another day where there is no rush and preperation can be done to enjoy another great golfing day, and when your finished you can sit back and enjoy the brilliant scenery while having some refreshments.
Day Seven The final day of the tour has to come sooner or later, depending on the time of the departing flight, you may be able to have either another round at Millbrook, Jack's Point or try out the Kelvin Hieghts Golf Course which has great views of Queenstown and all the mountain Ranges as well as the great lake. So let us know if you would like to play on the final day or the first day of the tour as we can arrange the extra golf if travel times allow, and we will only put the cost of the green fees onto the original price of the tour.
