Experience what I rate as the best golf course in New Zealand, the Wairakei International Golf Course, it's layout is just incredible, as there is not a boring hole on this course, every tee shot demands strategy, the course is always in perfect condition and the scenery is top shelf, with Autumn and spring really bringing out some vibrant colours.  The owner has just fenced off the entire course to protect the many variety's of wildlife including the birds that eat berries and fall out of the trees after getting intoxicated, its a site that puts a smile on your face.

This tour also includes the newest golf course in the region, being Kinloch Resort Golf Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, this layout with many natural looking bunkers and hazards, including a large lake which a great par 5 boarders is typical of Jacks style, the back nine has a superb view of Lake Taupo and this is an experience that will stay in your memory forever.

Then you have the a choice of playing one of the two courses at the Taupo golf club, or if you are up to it you could play both on the second day leaving the resort courses for day 1 and 2.  Although not in the same boat as Wairakei International or Kinloch, they are still very good golf courses, the Tahara Golf Course is the older of the two founded in 1928, it is Parklike and relatively short with smaller greens.  The Centennial Golf Course founded in 1973 is an inland links layout, it is challenging being long with undulating fairways and large greens, there is also two practice fairway's, two practice green's and three practice bunker's.
